Business Situation

Our client is a £multi-billion global business and technology consulting organisation with a FTSE 100 client base.  They had a significant lack of architecture leadership at exec level across multiple practice sectors, including Financial Services, Retail/FMCG, Telco, Insurance and Supply Chain/Logistics. They needed to hire a number of senior level Enterprise Architecture roles to head up each domain. Following a period of 4 months unsuccessfully trying to hire via their current PSL and direct sourcing team, the client requested to partner with Trinity as a leading IT Architecture recruiter to help with their specialist resource needs.

Issues

  • Client needed to hire 8 exec-level Enterprise Architects, offering ÂŁ100k+ remuneration packages, as quickly as possible
  • Brand name in the market was damaged due to inexperience of current generalist IT PSL approaching the wrong candidates, and with poor understanding of architecture responsibilities
  • Competitor consulting organisations were looking to hire exactly the same roles
  • Current client projects were at risk if they could not hire the right resource quickly

Resolutions

  • Trinity conducted an initial meeting with both the Global Head of Talent Resourcing and the relevant Heads of Practice to fully understand the project brief, why the roles had not been filled to date, how we could position the organisation as an employer of choice in a very competitive field, and how we could put an appropriate process in place to ensure a timely and successful outcome
  • Working with the Global Head of Talent, we agreed which roles and practices should take priority, and subsequently worked with each Head of Practice to re-write the role profile for their area, making the brief more concise and attractive to potential applicants
  • Trinity spent 5 days mapping the entire Enterprise Architecture market for each domain, ensuring we knew of every suitable candidate within competitor organisations that we could then approach via a headhunt. The client remarked that this was “the most detailed, professional and useful piece of market intelligence we have ever seen from a supplier – delighted with the timeframe you have provided this shortlist in – clearly why we needed to partner with an architecture recruitment specialist”.
  • Trinity conducted the initial telephone interviews on behalf of the client, to re-position them as an attractive employer proposition in the architecture space, and to strengthen their brand reputation
  • We organised a number of Interview Assessment Days over a period of 4 weeks for each practice area, ensuring all relevant business and HR stakeholders were available on the same day. This enabled a 1-stage interview process and swift offer management and turnaround for both client and candidate, giving our client a significant advantage over competitor organisations whose interview processes were taking up to 4 months to complete.
  • Trinity coached the client on how to run the 1-day assessments, writing candidate case-study scenarios, providing structured competency interviewing frameworks and providing candidate references in advance to further facilitate a speedy, low-risk and efficient process
  • The client hired 6 Enterprise Architects in a 6 week timeframe, ensuring all client projects were safeguarded.  Trinity are now retained as their architecture recruitment specialists and are used exclusively across the business globally.
